To get rid of that anxiety, a US-based firm has designed a smart tampon which lets you know when it needs changing. It works through a monitor - about the size of a compact mirror - which is attached to the user's waistband or underwear. Women insert the end of the string into the monitor which begins transmitting data to an app on the users phone via Bluetooth.
