Right on time for the kickoff of the 2019 NFL season, KFC has chosen the next Colonel Sanders. “Rudy” star Sean Astin brings back his role as the college football legend in a new campaign, becoming “Colonel Rudy.” Astin joins the long list of celebrities who have played the Colonel, including Jason Alexander, Ray Liotta, and Reba McEntire.“When KFC approached me to reprise the role of Rudy, but play him as Colonel Sanders, I knew this was something I couldn’t pass up,” Astin was quoted as saying “Getting to recreate some of the film’s iconic scenes with a KFC spin was such a fun experience.”
