Boston PD Warns Of Cryptocurrency Scams Targeting Seniors

The Boston Police Department is warning about a cryptocurrency scam targeting seniors.

Police say these bad actors pressure victims to withdraw cash, convert it to crypto at an ATM and send it to a scammer controlled wallet.

These transactions are nearly impossible to reverse.

Police recommend tips to protect yourself, including researching before investing, keep your private key private, and use official App stores.

The City of Boston reports residents' financial loss was over nine-million-dollars in cryptocurrency scams last year and losses could be even higher this year.
