Birth Mom Still Being Sought And May Need Medical Attention

The Springfield Police Department says a newborn baby was found abandoned this past weekend.

The baby was believed to have been left at a home on Entrybrook Drive between 9 p.m. Friday and 12:40 a.m. Saturday.

Residents in the Forest Park neighborhood are being asked to review security footage to possibly identify the mother.

The Springfield PD says she may be in need of medical attention.

The baby was reportedly sent to Baystate Hospital and is recovering.

Meantime, officials are reminding residents in need of the Baby Safe Have Law which was passed in 2004.

That law allows a parent to surrender a newborn to a hosital, police or fire station without questions being asked.
