What happens when museums solicits pics of exhibits? Quite the duck hunt.
The Museum of English Rural Life - aka, The MERL - threw the gauntlet, asking the British Museum to "give us your best duck."
The Natural History Museum of London and the British Library were quick to send their pics.
The Natural History Museum didn't pull its punches...
Others dove in, including the Royal Academy, and the Musée du Louvre.
The British Museum finally chimed in with a charming Egyptian fowl.
Then the Mallards got involved.
And America got involved, with the Getty sharing a real quacker.
Some entries garnered quite the reaction.
Then it turned rather dark.
Through it all, the MERL kept the puns coming.
Clearly, the real winner was the MERL.
Twitter could not get enough of the exchange.
Same, Hannah. Same.
