A Maryland school employee has been fired after an exchange with a student on Twitter.
After snow was forecasted, a student tweeted at the @FCPSMaryland school account saying "close school tammarow PLEASE."
Katie Nash, the person in charge of FCPS's account, replied with "but then how would you learn how to spell 'tomorrow'? :)"
While many were amused by the sassy response, school officials apparently weren't.
Nash was fired the Friday following the exchange.
The student involved doesn't seem to be upset about the reply.
i didn't take it like personaly— Nathan (@linganoreRocket) January 6, 2017
In fact, Nathan and his parents seem to be fighting on Nash's behalf after hearing the news of her firing.
@Duplo_Alien my parents did as soon as they found out she was fired— Nathan (@linganoreRocket) January 16, 2017
What do you think? Was the school's response too harsh? Or did Nash deserve to be fired?
