Earl “Skip” Bottoms, an 88-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, is proving that age is just a number with his incredible dedication to volunteer work.
Even though Skip uses a cane to get around and has difficulty hearing, he has contributed over 700 hours of service at St. Mary’s Hospital and with Meals on Wheels. He’s a beloved figure at the hospital, known for his kindness and willingness to help with anything from delivering papers to transporting patients in wheelchairs.
Skip was recently recognized for his efforts -- and was awarded a cash prize.
Skip was speechless when he learned about the award -- and then announced that he was donating $100 of his prize money to help a homeless friend.
