When Annie Goshen fell outside her South Tampa, Florida, home, it could have been so much worse. The 90-year-old suffers from dementia and was holding scissors when she fell down on a rock while trying to cut some flowers. Fortunately a pizza delivery driver named Joey happened to see her on the ground and rushed to help her.
Goshen’s daughter, PJ Steele later saw surveillance video from her mom’s home, showing the kind young man comforting her mother by helping her inside and holding her hand while they waited for an ambulance to arrive. “Had he not been there, there’s no telling how long she would’ve laid there,” Steele says. “Where the house is here, we are on a dead-end street, and I don’t think anybody would’ve seen her.”
Goshen was treated overnight at the hospital for a fracture and some bruising, but is back home now. She says she hopes she can see Joey again, so she can thank him for helping her.
