Central Mass Grad Scores Three Oscar Nominations

In 2006, Daniel Kwan graduated from Westborough High School.

In 2023, he’s sitting on top of the film world, with his film about a Chinese immigrant embarking on an adventure to save existence collecting 11 Oscar nominations on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

“Everything Everywhere All At Once” earned Kwan Academy Award nominations for Best Picture (along with Daniel Scheinert and Jonathan Wang, producers); Directing (along with Scheinert); Writing (Original Screenplay, along with Scheinert).

The picture has also earned nominations for Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh); Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu); Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan); Costume Design (Shirley Kurata); Film Editing (Paul Rogers); Music (Original Score – Son Lux); Music (Original Song – “This Is a Life,” music by Ryan Lott and David Byrne and Mitski, lyric by Lott and Byrne).
