The day before Thanksgiving is a big day for drinking. In fact, it is the biggest drinking night of the year. It even has a name: Drinksgiving. Seems on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving there is a 167% increase in alcohol sales compared to a typical Wednesday night. Makes sense -- people are home from college and meeting up with old friends, relatives are in town, and everyone is feeling festive about having four days off.
Drinksgiving is also known as Blackout Wednesday. So, as the beer commercials always say, please, drink responsibly.
