A 2-year-old Massachusetts child was rushed to a Boston area hospital after being rescued from a backyard swimming pool by a family friend.

19 year-old Savanah Mendez-Rodrigres is CPR certified and she went right to work. By the time paramedics arrived the toddler was responsive.

The girl remembered her training to count compressions to the beat of the '70s disco hit, "Stayin' Alive."

"Halfway through, I'm just thinking, 'Stayin' Alive' to make sure I'm keeping up with the beat, because he's so small, so you have to be really gentle with a kid," Mendez-Rodrigues said.

Mendez-Rodrigues said she didn't think about what she did until EMTs arrived.
