Grover Robinson IV, the mayor of Pensacola, Florida is giving up his paycheck to assist residents of his city during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Robinson just asked the city to donate his salary to help people pay their utility bills while they’re out of work. The mayor says he understands that this is a challenging time, with businesses being closed, but he’s confident Pensacola will get through this.

"Now granted, this isn't going to make a tremendous drop in the bucket, but what I want to communicate to you is I'm not afraid,” Robinson explains. “I'm not going to ask you to lose your salary if I'm not willing to do the same at this particular time.”

And yes, a standing slow clap for this guy.
