UMass is requesting the NCAA reinstate the men's basketball team's only run to the Final Four.
Athletic Director Ryan Bamford sent a letter to NCAA President and former Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker asking the association to "revisit and restore" the program's 1996 Final Four appearance.
The accomplishment was vacated the following year after star center Marcus Camby was found to have accepted money from agents while still in school, which was prohibited.
Bamford asked for the case to be evaluated "consistent with the NCAA's current values and policies" in the NIL era.
Baker has not responded.
