Bail is denied for an award-winning chef at UMass accused of murdering his wife at the UMass Campus Center hotel in Amherst.
Jeffrey MacDonald pleaded not guilty yesterday to murder and assault and battery on a police officer in Eastern Hampshire District Court.
Police say Emma MacDonald was found dead Wednesday night inside the Hotel UMass.
Police say MacDonald attacked the officers who entered the room before confessing that he beat the victim to death.
University officials say the victim was also a staff member on campus.
