Trump Fires Bondi- New England Lawmakers React

President Trump is breaking out one of his favorite moves, firing Attorney General Pam Bondi in another cabinet shakeup.

In a Truth Social post, Trump announced that Bondi will be leaving the administration and moving to a private sector job.

Massachusetts Congressman Jim McGovern said, "good riddance. Maybe we can get the Epstein files released."

US Senator Ed Markey said he was "glad" but worried about who might take over the DOJ.

Rhode Island Senior Senator Jack Reed said, “From the time she was announced as President Trump’s second choice to lead DOJ, Attorney General Bondi's time in office was marred by scandal, partisanship, and a severe lack of independence. She routinely undermined the rule of law and sought to obscure the truth."

Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal in a statement said, “Pam Bondi has been a catastrophic Attorney General."

The move comes after Bondi faced criticism over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and was set to deposed by the House Oversight Committee on April 14th on the matter. In a statement on X,

Bondi said she remains eternally grateful for the trust that Trump placed in her to Make America Safe Again.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will now serve as Acting Attorney General.
