BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) – Here we are again. After our third nor'easter in two weeks more than 140,000 homes and businesses remain in the dark. Power companies say that it could be could be a while before the lights come back on.
“Right now we don’t have any detailed estimates on when we will have power restored but it will be at least several days though,” said Mike Durand, spokesperson from Eversource.
Durand says thousands of contractors and employees are out there working -- and the utility is bringing in more crews by the hour.
They're focusing on the Cape, South Shore, South Coast and the Islands. That's where most of the outages are -- and some towns remain close to completely out.
Lakeville, 97-percent out.
Orleans, 78-percent out.
Chilmark on The Vineyard, 75 percent.
Falmouth, Mashpee, Sandwich, Bourne -- all well over half out.
towns on the South Shore such as Scituate, Marshfield and Duxbury are improving, but still dealing with a solid share of outages.
